Hi, I’m Ria — the heart behind Maisie Moo


Maisie Moo began long before it had a name.  Back in 2010, while I was pregnant with my daughter Maisie, I started stitching little felt mobiles and nursery décor during those slow, quiet days of waiting.  Friends asked for their own, then friends of friends, and before I even realised it, Maisie Moo Felt Creations was born.

What started as a small handmade side-project slowly grew into a full-time creative business.  For years, I made custom baby mobiles and hand-stitched felt creations for customers all over the world. It was simple, personal, and full of heart and it taught me everything I know about running a creative studio and selling at craft fairs.

From felt to faux leather… and a whole new chapter

As both crafting and technology evolved, so did I. I fell in love with digital making, clean lines, clever construction, and the magic of watching a Cricut or Silhouette machine bring a design to life.  That passion sparked Maisie Moo Design, my range of SVG templates, faux leather patterns, and Easy Stitch beginner-friendly projects.

Today, both Maisie Moo Felt Patterns and Maisie Moo Design live under the same creative umbrella: Maisie Moo — my world of fun, simple, confidence-boosting projects designed for makers who love to create.

A big little Kiwi business

I work from my studio in beautiful Ōmokoroa, New Zealand, surrounded by bags of felt and faux leather, stacks of ribbons, buttons, thread, and the odd cup of cold tea I always meant to finish.

Thanks to an amazing community of makers, Maisie Moo has grown far beyond anything I ever imagined. Its become the top-selling Etsy shop in New Zealand and are proudly ranked among the top 300 craft design shops worldwide on Etsy. It still blows my mind. Every download, every message, every shared photo, it all helps a little Kiwi business like mine keep creating.

One of my favourite parts of this journey has been the incredible community that’s formed around it. My Facebook group is full of talented, generous makers who share their projects, ask questions, swap tips, and cheer each other on.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes! absolutely! You’re welcome to sell any physical items you create from my designs. Many of my customers use Maisie Moo patterns as their craft fair and market best-sellers.

The only limits are:

  • Please don’t share or resell the digital files
  • Don’t create physical dies or stencils from the designs
  • Don’t use my photos or mockups in your listings

Everything else, go for it. I love seeing makers succeed.
